In-person life-insurance sales - Schaumburg, IL

Be led well. Build a lasting practice.

Daniel Ruh is interviewing candidates for an in-person life-insurance sales role at our Schaumburg, IL office. This is commission-only, 1099 independent-contractor work. There is no salary, base, or benefits. Candidates must be able to commute to Schaumburg in the Chicago northwest suburbs and work on-site with the team.

Mentorship is the offer.
The work

Direct, useful, customer-facing.

The work is straightforward: call people who requested information about life insurance, learn their needs, explain available coverage, and help qualified families apply.

You are paid when a family gets covered, and not before. Daniel shows the structure in writing at onboarding - your contract level, how advances work, and what a chargeback is.

The structure, in writing

Know the arrangement before you commit.

This page describes the contractor structure, costs, and support. It does not make an earnings claim.

ContractYour commission contract starts at the 80% level.
First 3 salesDaniel joint-works your first three sales at 50/50 - watch, assist, then lead - and you are agent-of-record from day one.
Lapsed joint caseEach party is responsible for the advance received if a joint case lapses.
Lead pathThe lead path includes your warm list plus aged leads starting under $2/lead. Nobody is forced to buy leads.
WorkplaceOn-site at the Schaumburg, IL office. This is not a remote role.
Led well

Mentored well, with the work visible.

You get weekly training, live-call observation, a group dial hour during your first two weeks, a written lead path, and joint-work on your first three sales.

01

Watch

See the process, hear real call work, and learn the structure before leading.

02

Assist

Work alongside Daniel with direct feedback and clear expectations.

03

Lead

Lead the third joint-work case while remaining agent-of-record from day one.

Honest startup cost

Plan for the real first-90-days expense.

Your realistic first-90-days out-of-pocket: $300-600 state licensing now, roughly $300-600 E&O when you contract, $25-50 starter leads - up to about $1,250 total, self-funded. If that's a wall, this seat isn't right yet.

For an unlicensed candidate, the license is a 20-60 hour course plus a state exam.

If your license is active, your out-of-pocket is just E&O at contracting plus any starter leads you choose to self-fund; the full roughly $1,250 first-90-days figure only applies to someone entering unlicensed.

Straight talk

Who this is not for

Straight talk on who this is not for: if you need income inside 30 days, cannot self-fund the roughly $1,250 start, or will not run a proven script before rewriting it, this seat is not right yet.

This is also not the right seat if you cannot commute to Schaumburg, cannot protect consistent weekly hours, or do not want to work alongside the team in the office.

Before course-purchase advice

Carrier appointment comes first.

Before anyone advises a course purchase, Daniel discusses factors that may affect carrier appointment, including criminal history, bankruptcy or severe credit events, prior insurance-agent debt, carrier balances, or a Vector One listing. Carrier appointment is uncertain until any flagged issue is resolved.

How much will I make?

Daniel will not quote an income number. At onboarding, he shows the commission structure in writing - contract level, how advances work, and what a chargeback is. We promise the system, not a paycheck.
